Learn to cut glass accurately in both straight lines and curves. Principles of panel design. Gently testing and manageable project designs are provided. Choose your colours and textures of glass, then cut the glass for your panel. ‘Leading up’ – learn about the different types, widths and profiles of lead and assemble your panel, utilising the correct tools. Soldering the lead joints, then cementing and polishing the panel. Done! The leaded light / stained glass window course is aimed at beginners and those who have had some experience and wish to improve. Numbers are limited to three people per course to maintain good quality teaching. If after the course you decide to take it up as a hobby, get the equipment, start a project and get stuck with something, you are always welcome to visit the workshop to work your ideas through. With over 20 years experience in teaching stained glass, North Norfolk Stained Glass has a wealth of knowledge to offer you on each of the classes we teach. Specialisingin not just traditional stained glass but modern techniques such as glass fusion- you’ll learn everything starting from the basic skills all the way to the finished piece, whether that be a stained glass window or a fused glass piece of art to display in your home. Set in a brick and flint cottage in rural Norfolk – we provide everything you need to produce your piece, including drinks and a lunch – not to mention a view that is sure to inspire. A comprehensive introduction to making stained glass windows using over 500 years of method. Cost of £165.00 inclusive of use of tools, materials, refreshments and a lunch per person per day. You will produce a stained glass panel of roughly A4 size. Maximum number of students on a course is 4 to ensure quality one-to-one tutoring.
