19pc Lot of American Coin Silver Fiddle Pattern Spoons
Presented is a great lot of American coin silver spoons by a variety of makers. The lot includes 9 tablespoons or serving spoons (8 are coin silver, 1 is sterling silver), 9 coin silver teaspoons, 1 coin silver mustard spoon, and 1 silver plated salt spoon. The spoons are all done in the Fiddle pattern. Two of the tablespoons have shell decoration on the ends of the handles. All the spoons are monogrammed with a variety of monograms as you can see in the photos. The makers for each type of piece are as follows: Tablespoons: 1 by Albert Coles (the sterling silver spoon), 1 with an arm and hammer stamped JT \u0026 EME, 1 by Christopher Burr, 2 by Herman Jenkins, 2 by Salisbury \u0026 Company, and 2 by Thomas Richards. Teaspoons: 3 by C. A. Mann, 1 by Edward Putnam, 1 by Porter \u0026 Company, 1 stamped DBH, 1 marked JH, 1 stamped with a worn mark which has ELER for the last four letters, and 1 with A. Lounsbury for the retailer and a worn maker’s mark. Mustard spoon by Clement Davison We are selling this lot AS IS. The spoons are in good overall condition. They have some dents and dings. Only one piece, the smallest piece, the salt spoon, is silverplated. Everything else is coin silver or sterling silver. The tablespoons are all between 8 and 9 inches long. The teaspoons are all between 5 1/2 and 6 1/4 inches long. The mustard spoon is 4 3/4 inches long. The salt spoon is 3 1/2 inches long. The total weight of the spoons (not including the weight of the silver plated salt spoon) is 555 grams or 19.4 ounces.
5 American Coin Silver Fiddle Pattern Serving Spoons
Presented is a nice lot of 5 American coin silver serving spoons or tablespoons. On
e of the spoons is silverplated and included as a bonus. The spoons are all done in the Fiddle pattern. They have a variety of makers. Three spoons are monogrammed MD, one is monogrammed SAP, one is monogrammed SLP, and one is engraved S.J. Clemans. All the spoons are hallmarked with a maker’s mark on the reverse. Three spoons have A. C. Pelton. One spoon has J. Gray and Coin probably for John Gray of Philadelphia. One spoon has G. Hastings(this is the one that is plated). One spoon has the G, lion, and monarch’s head mark of Hall, Hewson \u0026 Brower. The spoons are in good overall condition. They have some dings here and some surface wear commensurate with their age. They are all perfectly useable. We are selling them AS IS. They are as you see them in the photos. The spoons are 8 1/2 to 8 3/4 inches long. The total weight is 183.1 grams or 6.4 ounces. This weight only includes the five silver spoons.
