Hexie Blooms Pattern by Fran of Cotton and Joy. Hexie Blooms is a modern take on the classic Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilts. This block-based pattern uses NO y-seams and no hand sewing, and it includes three design options for maximum flexibility – sew a scrappy version with fabric from your stash or your favorite precut, use FQs for a stunning full bloom version, or use yardage for a classic 2-color version.  Hexie Blooms is the perfect pattern for confident beginners comfortable with matching seams and those ready to give templates or specialty rulers a try. Pattern assumes quilter has knowledge of basic piecing and can use consistent 1/4″ seam allowances. Pattern includes helpful diagrams, detailed instructions, and a Color-Your-Own page to help you decide your fabric choices. Sizes: Baby (45″ x 45″), Throw (58″ x 65″), Twin (72″ x 90″), and Queen (90″ x 100″). Skill Level: Confident Beginner. The pattern assumes the quilter knows basic piecing techniques, can maintain a consistent 1/4″ seam, and is comfortable matching points. Format: This product is a paper copy of the pattern. Booklet will be mailed via USPS first class within 2 business days after purchase. (You can purchase the downloadable PDF here). Design Options Fabric Requirement   COPYRIGHT You may sell items made using this pattern as a small independent seller. Please credit the pattern design as Cotton + Joy Patterns. The pattern is for one-person use only. Copying, redistributing or selling is strictly prohibited

Jelly Garden quilt kit…designed by April Zimmer. This lovely little throw measures just 50 x 63 inches and is wonderful for anyone looking for a simple project that can be done anywhere! English Paper Piecing is the method I used…but there are lots of ways people do it. Pop over to our blog and see how I baste my papers. Jelly Garden uses 1 (yes…just 1) jelly roll or layer cake and 3 yards of background. We added a fringe to ours, but you can trim straight and bind if you prefer. This listing is for a Jelly Garden kit which includes: Jelly Roll *OR* Layer Cake 3 yards bleached muslin Jelly Garden pattern 6 packs of 100–1 inch hexie papers ********* Jelly Roll *OR* Layer Cake Options: Grace (photo 2) ******************* Ambleside Jelly Roll was used in the project. Grace is Brenda Riddle’s 13th collection…this collection could be Ambleside’s younger sister. It has the color variety of Ambleside…sunshine, cobblestone,
sprout, duck egg blue, linen white, blush, and raspberry. The variety of prints are reminiscent of Ambleside as well…a recolored Ambleside floral, her classic ginghams, small florals, and tonals. *Vintage bedspread fringe* i’ve gotten my hands on some bedspread fringe…i am in the process of getting it sorted and pictures taken. if you are interested in some to coordinate please let me know in the note to seller and i can send you some pictures of what i have that works with the fabrics…then i can set up a listing and get them shipped together. (if binding is preferred, cut strips from the remainder of the bleached muslin) PLEASE READ Please keep in mind…each Jelly Roll contains 40 strips but not always 40 different prints. The original Jelly Garden uses a Jelly Roll of 40 different prints. Current Brenda Riddle Collections contain more doubles possibly triples and every collection has a different ratio of light/medium/darks. You will still have enough fabric but not the variety of the original. This is okay…i did a 2nd Jelly Garden using Folktale by Lella Boutique (34 different prints) and some of the flowers are an odd mix but that just adds to the loveliness. if you feel this may be an issue, you may want to consider supplementing the kit with stash fabrics or an additional charm pack (each square gives you 4 hexies) or an additional jelly roll. As always…if you have any questions…please reach out. happy stitching…thanks for stopping by –april

Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt in Progress Dear Friends and Readers, You may remember sometime back I shared with you my hexagons. This is the link to the post. Hexagons Charming Free and Easy That project has been on the backburner for a while as I was enjoying working on these Periwinkle Blocks. Periwinkle Block Made Easy How nice it is to have hand sewing on the go as a portable project. I have previously written a post about the benefits of having a hand piecing project on the go, you can read in the next link. I’ve updated it with
