Post update 27/01/2022: There’s an updated version of this pattern with clear instructions and little changes to the tail over on my new blog. CHECK OUT THE NEW PATTERN Do you like cats? I’m not much of a cat person but they hands down take the lead when it comes to cuteness. It’s hard not to love these fluffy little furballs with big adorable eyes. I really loved making this chubby cat that i couldn’t stop at just one. Let’s see how to make these adorable chubby cats. Materials needed: Acrylic yarn in pink and lavender colour ( i have used 4ply/ sport weight acrylic yarn). Crochet hook according to the size of your yarn ( i have used 2mm hook). Poly fiber fill Tapestry needle Safety eyes or flat back black beads for eyes (I have used 8mm flatback bead). Black embroidery thread This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise. ch – chain. sc – single crochet. dec – sc 2 together. rep ** – repeat stitches between **. Head and body: Using pink colour yarn, R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6). R2: 2sc in each st (12). R3: *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st*, rep **(18). R4: *sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st*, rep ** (24). If using safety eyes, insert them between R10 and R11 with 6 or 7 stitches inbetween. R20: *sc in next 5 st, dec in next st*, rep ** (36) R21: *sc in next 4 st, dec in next st*, rep ** (30) R22: *sc in next 3 st, dec in next st*, rep** (24) R23: *sc in next 2 st, dec in next st*, rep** (18) Start stuffing and stuff as you go. Legs: (Make 4) 5 sc in magic ring. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing. Tail: Using lavender colour yarn, R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6). R2: *sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st*, rep ** (8). Stuff a little and fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing. Assembling: Place the ears at the end of R3 spanning till the end of R8 on either sides of the head. If using flatback beads, place them between R10 and R11. Embroider the mouth and add in whiskers. For the mouth embroider a inverted v shape and a small straight line over that. Sew the whiskers one stitch apart from the side of the eyes. Place the forelegs at R14-15 on either sides. Place the hind legs a little slanting at R20-21 on either sides. Take a strand of lavender colour yarn and sew the stripes on forehead stripes from R2 to R6 and sewed the two side stripes at R15 and R17 of the body. Finally attach the tail at the back. I placed them between R21 and R22. And your chubby lil cat is now ready. I really hope you guys like the tutorial. Have a great day! Much love 🙂
