Fishy Nine-Patch Patchwork Quilt Block Pattern
Fishy Nine-Patch is a stylized pictorial design that is symmetrical to one diagonal. The block measures 9 inches square when finished. The fish eye is created by sewing a small button onto each fish in the finished quilt. Fishy Nine-Patch is simple enough for someone with only basic quilting skills to construct very easily. This two-value design is well suited to scrap quilts, but it’s especially effective using one watery background fabric and a single, unique fabric for each fish, as demonstrated in the sample quilt in the first product image. Geometric prints and irregular stripes work very well with this approach. This 3-page PDF pattern includes many colored diagrams, detailed instructions, color placement tips and a chart of pieces to cut for each Fishy Nine-Patch block—everything you need to successfully create a beautiful quilt project with your own special touch! When you purchase this pattern, you will also receive my free 5-page PDF tool for calculating yardage, shown in the last product image. The Yardage Calculator will not only guide you in determining your yardage requirements, but it will also guide you in cutting pieces for your quilt from strips. This Corner Nine Patch quilting block pattern can be made by implementing the use of the templates that we present here. Scraps can be used or you can use
materials that we have suggested. Our suggested material amounts are an over-exaggeration, so if you make a mistake you always have more fabric to work with. Our pattern makes a 15×15 inch quilting block with a 1/4 inch grace allowance. This way you can make any size quilt you desire within 15 inch increments of your desired result. You should already know how to use a quilt pattern with templates. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Finished quilting block is 15×15 inches with a 1/4 inch grace allowance for piecing. MATERIALS: Fabric in 3 different colors (1/4 yard each preferred, but less will be used). YOU WILL ALSO NEED: Printer Paper Pins Needle and thread/sewing machine Template plastic (optional) This is for the block pattern only. Because of the nature of this item, no returns are given.
