My favorite fabrics for this project are Hoffman Bali Poppy or Wilmington Prints Mini Jewel sets. The number of 2 1/2 strips in these packs enable you to make 4 place mats. If you don’t like batiks you can also use Moda Fabrics junior jelly roll. If you are making more than 4 place mats you will need to add to your strips sets or use a regular jelly roll.
