This diaper cover is worked flat in two pieces and knitted in garter stitch, with a waist rib. On the pattern there are various options available to give a twist to this model: simple ribs and a waist cord, twisted stitches ribs and waist cord with pompoms, simple/twisted stitches ribs and waist without holes. CROCHET PATTERN BABY KIMONO a 6 page pdf with lots of pictures and an extensive description in US terms I wanted to create an easy garment that doesn’t need assembling and can be crocheted from the collar down. The sleeves are added on after 9 rows and all you need to do is weave in a few ends. And – of course – choose a color combination that you love. The possibilities are infinite! This is a pattern for you to crochet the baby kimono yourself, however if you would like me to crochet one for you, if will have a selection of baby kimonos stocked in my Etsy shop and I also do custom orders. Baby Fair Isle cross over top, hat and boots – P017
This very cute and serviceable kimono top is easy to knit. The Fair Isle pattern was inspired by a Japanese quilting block I came across recently, meaning ‘parent and child’. I have chosen navy and white for this knit as traditionally these are the colours used in Sashiko designs, another hobby of mine. The Fair Isle charts are well explained and simple to follow. This would also look very sweet knitted up in a soft pink and white. Smaller needles are used on the ribs (neck band, bottom, buttons/buttonholes band) for a better fit.
