Cobblestone
Cobblestone is an asymmetric triangular shawl knitted on the bias in fingering weight / 4 ply yarn. Stockinette stitch sections are mixed with eyelet and broken rib sections to create a shawl with textural interest and a soft fabric that drapes beautifully.Cobblestone is worked in one piece from the top right corner across and downwards. Two increases at the beginning and one decrease at the end of every RS row creates an asymmetric triangular shape.Yardage Approximately 372 yards / 340 metres of fingering / 4 ply / sock yarn. Instructions are given for increasing the size of the shawl.Gauge 18 sts and 30 rows per 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking. Gauge is not crucial but a different gauge will alter the finished size, drape and amount of yarn required.Skills Required / Techniques Used Increase / decrease stitches; Lace knitting (for the eyelet rows); Blocking; The pattern has written directions only. Dancing on the Edge
Make this shawl in any weight yarn, best suited to a solid or close to solid colour. The size can be adjusted by changing the number of repeats worked. The shawl is an almost symmetrical triangular shawl worked from the point sideways. The decorative edge is a simple pattern using basic stitches such as knit, purl, yo, ssk, k2tog, k3 tog and psso. The finished size will depend on gauge so the width from the centre of the top edge to the tip can vary between 24-29\

Darmuta Shawl
I designed and knitted this shawl just for fun of creating a shawl that could look good both on the right and wrong sides. The pattern alternates knit and purl, which gives a different aspect on the wrong side and there are some who like the ‘reverse’ even more than the ‘front’.It is a sister shawl to Marduta, they both are reversible. The yarn can range from Lace to Sock, depending on how airy you want it to be, gauge is not crucial and depends on the yarn and the needles that you choose to knit with. The pattern can be customized by using different yarns, needle sizes, or adding repeats to the pattern. The size given is only approximate, you can choose how wide and long your shawl is going to be.The shawl is easy to knit if you know some basic lace stitches – in
creasing, decreasing and yarnovers. It is also fun to knit, not too complicated and yet not boring either.
