This jumper is knitted in the round in one piece, which takes a bit of know how so is not for absolute beginners but I have given very detailed instructions of how to make this jumper so most knitters will be able to manage it with ease! This jumper takes around 1kilo of yarn, so no lightweight but it is beautifully warm and cosy and hangs ever so well. I’ve used around 70 colours – yes I know I went overboard – to make the multicoloured jumper shown above, and about 10 colours in the golden tones, so a hank of each one. It fits about a 36 inch bust, but can be altered for larger or smaller sizes without too much difficulty.En francais aussi Language English, French Brand Independent Designer Designer Jennie Howes Craft Knitting Format Downloadable PDF Skill Level Advanced Pages 9

The Easy Crochet Scarf Ok, ok…through lots of loving heckling I present to you a crochet pattern..gasp! Understand, I’m a knitter and thanks to my crafty MIL I now know how to crochet but not well enough to even put a pattern up for anyone to follow. With that in mind, I turned to one of Darn Good Yarn’s sponsored Etsy Artists, Melissa. She came up with two super simple crochet patterns. This is the first, a nifty scarf very much like the

Best for: Knitting, Crocheting, Needlepoint, Embroidery, Tatting Transcript Hey everyone I’m Nicole and I’m Alan and we work at Darn Good Yarn and in this video we’re gonna talk to you all about our herbal dyed packs. This was like a love project I remember being pregnant when I was developing this line and the cool thing about these packs which really it’s like the super eco-friendly yarn where it’s 100% recycled silk. So each ball is it’s 50 grams and they’re 150 yards each and each pack has five different colors and you can see there’s a little bit of variations in each one. So we have like four or five different colorways as of now and I just want to show you like everything that’s going on with them. Like some of these are dyed with rose petals, some with marigold petals we get really funky with what we’re doing here. Yeah so what would you make with something like this since you’re a man who knits. You could almost do, you can do hats like this one yeah basically and that almost this weight and what’s neat about this is you can do like Nordic patterns because they have a tendency to go from the same kinds of colors so if you were able to do like two stitches, two or three at the same time and you can follow a pattern which is pretty easy to do. This would be perfect yeah well you got its all right there it’s kind of neat to know the scheme that you have. Yeah I like having them all in one. I have another one off camera here but then, socks this would be great for socks. Socks we also have a couple of really great shawl patterns on the website as well and we have some cool tunic. I know we had some tunics and knit and crochet and they’re in this cool gradient so you get this like ombre. That’s what I was going for when I put together the packs. So yeah those are our herbal dye packs. They’re coming to us from southern India. They’re being spun and hand dyed there as well and we’re using this really cool dye sources for them like indigo and all that. So that’s really exciting to me because it’s really unique and I haven’t seen anything like that before on recycled silk. I just think this is a wonderful material to work with. It’s just it’s soft but it’s not scratchy it’s just fun to work with it. It’s a really nice cotton almost and it feels good to work with. Yeah you can do almost anything with it. Cool well that’s it, I’m Nicole this is Alan and that’s our video about our herbal dyed packs. If you have any questions reach out to us at info@darngoodyarn.com and we’re a small business, we like to have fun and we’d like to serve you and make you happy. So if you have any questions about what project you’re working on what yarn to use reach out to us, we have a fiber artist on staff that can help you with that. We’re happy to help so that’s it, we’ll talk to you later, bye-bye.
